In the hills of Uva province, in the south of the island of Ceylon, the Blackwood plantation benefits from a terroir conducive to the development of exceptional teas. Harvesting takes place in late summer, between July and September, only when the tea plants have reached full maturity. The planter skilfully crafts the most precious leaves of his garden and invites us to discover a green tea cru that surprises our eyes just as much as our palates. Dried leaves: The unique and meticulous shaping of the leaves gives them the marvellous appearance of long, thin twisted needles the colour of tourmaline and moonstone. They immediately seduce with their complex scent of liqueurice wood, persimmon and cocoa bean. Infused leaves: The infusion reveals the precious buds, nestled and protected within two larger leaves. A delicious score of stewed tangerine blends with ripe papaya and fresh lychee. Liqueur: Clear and brilliant, the cup is adorned with golden hues from which aromas of panettone and candied fruits rise, softened by suave nuances of bitter orange blossom. The velvety texture blends with lingering and lively citrus accords.
Presented in a Mariage Frères black pouch.
