This outstanding green tea, produced by ethnic minorities, is grown on the high plateaus of Bolaven.
Its leaves, heated on a plate fuelled by a scented wood fire, are stirred for hours with little bamboo forks.
The fertile red soil, watered by the monsoon rains, gives the tea an intense, slightly smoky taste with fragrances of mossy earth combined with flowery overtones.
A rarity – available in limited quantities only – Champasak is a symbol of hospitality.
Presented in a Mariage Frères black pouch.
